Prof. Sreekumar R. Bhaskaran is the Dean’s Distinguished Research Professor of Information Technology and Operations Management and Chair of the Department at the Cox School of Business, Southern Methodist University (SMU).

Professor Bhaskaran is an expert in supply chain and operations management, innovation, and entrepreneurship. His research examines how firms design and manage supply chains, develop new products, commercialize innovations, and make strategic decisions in environments characterized by uncertainty and technological change. His work draws on analytical modeling as well as case-based, experimental, and empirical methods. He has published extensively in leading academic journals and regularly presents his work to industry audiences and at major academic conferences.

At SMU Cox, Professor Bhaskaran teaches graduate and executive students in operations, supply chain management, analytics, and related areas. His contributions to research, teaching, and innovation have been recognized with multiple awards, including the Research Excellence Award, Boghetich Family Distinguished Teaching Award, and Jackson Endowed Faculty Innovation Award. In 2014, Poets&Quants named him one of the “Best 40 B-School Profs Under 40.”
